Focal 8WM Utopia M Series Single 8" Component Woofer 100w RMS

UTOPIA 8WM WOOFER

OUTSTANDING VERSATILITY

The key word for this 8” woofer is versatility. Thanks to our new ‘M'-profile 'W' sandwich cone combined with our TMD® surround, it is capable of covering an extremely broad frequency range, of playing as well low to bring you excellent dynamics as it is to climbing up to the high-mids to make a perfect transition with our 3.5WM midrange or our TBM tweeter.

PERFORMANCE SOUND EXCELLENCE

AN ‘À LA CARTE’ CONCEPT

Do you dream about building your own, bespoke, audio system, by choosing each speaker driver based on your vehicle and your requirements? With our new Utopia M line, this dream has now come true, with only one limit: your creat

'M'-profile 'W' sandwich cone

The new, patented, ‘M'-profile cone is the result of many years of research and our expertise in materials and their geometry. The innovative ‘M’-profile, made from a single piece, means it is incredibly rigid and perfectly combines the three criteria essential for creating an “ideal” speaker driver: rigidity, lightness and damping. The result is an extremely linear frequency response, a low distortion rate and better sound dispersion.

Upon listening, this cone delivers striking realism and level of detail, that transports you into the heart of music.

TMD® surround

Originally developed for the Sopra line of high-fidelity loudspeakers, our TMD® (Tuned Mass Damper) surround has a unique profile, designed to better control the effects of resonance and to drastically reduce the distortion associated with deformations of the cone. The speaker driver takes advantage of this patented technology by spreading better defined and very realistic midranges’ frequencies.

Progressive spider

The progressive spider used on all our Utopia drivers is built around a progressive section that reproduces all the impact of the bass whilst optimising the linearity, precision and dynamics of the sound.

MADE IN FRANCE AND UNIQUE DESIGN

Utopia M range is entirely designed, developed and manufactured in France, in our workshops in Saint-Etienne. A unique and internationally recognized expertise for nearly forty years. In addition to the new ‘M’-profile ‘W’ sandwich cone, our designers went to the extreme in developing a disruptive design. The design of the Utopia M chassis is a subtle mix of tradition, performance and elegance “à la française”.
